The creator program lets you share spots, photos, videos, trips and lists about places you know, which we display on WondrOut. Creator access is currently by invitation. By joining, you confirm you are at least 18 years old and that you agree to these terms and to our general Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
"Your content" means anything you submit — links to your videos, photos you upload, captions, ratings, tips, trips, lists, guides, your profile and handle.
You keep ownership of your content. By submitting it, you grant WondrOut a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, adapt (for example, to resize a photo or format text) and promote your content on WondrOut and in our marketing of WondrOut, with credit to your creator profile. This licence lasts while your content is on WondrOut and for a reasonable period afterwards for backups and records.
Content people have paid for is different. Where someone has bought a guide, list or trip from you, the licence above continues for that content after you leave or take it down, but only so far as it lets us keep serving it to people who bought it before that point. We will not sell it to anyone new, and we will not promote it. This is what allows us to honour the promise we make to buyers in section 6 of our Terms of Service — without it, everyone who paid you would lose what they bought the day you left.
How we may adapt your content. "Adapt" above means presentation: resizing and cropping photos, formatting text, generating thumbnails, and translating. We do not use AI to rewrite your words or generate new content under your name. Where we publish AI-drafted descriptions about a place, they are ours and are not attributed to you. We may use automated tools to tag, categorise and moderate what you submit.
Videos you link from TikTok, Instagram or YouTube remain on those platforms and are shown via their embeds. Photos you upload are stored by us under the licence above.
Photos need their own section, because a photo you upload does more than sit on your profile.
Where your photo goes. When you add a photo to a place, it is added to that place's photo gallery and normally becomes the main photo we show for it. From then on it can appear anywhere that place appears on WondrOut: the map, search results, spot cards, city pages, link previews when someone shares the place, and inside trips, lists and guides made by other creators, including ones they charge for. We do not pay you for that use and other creators do not pay you for it either — you are contributing a photo to the catalogue, not just to your own page.
If you are not comfortable with that, do not upload the photo. Add your photo to your own trip, list or guide instead, or link a video.
Credit. Your profile, and the trips, lists and guides you publish, are credited to you. Photos shown as a place's main photo generally appear without a visible byline, because they sit in the interface as part of the place rather than as part of a post. So do not upload a photo on the assumption it will always carry your name.
Taking a photo back. Email us and we will remove your photo from the catalogue. Removal is not instant everywhere — cached copies, link previews and anything already downloaded may persist for a while — and where the photo is part of something a person has already bought, section 2 applies.
Photos you did not take. Only upload photos you shot yourself, or that you hold documented permission to use and to let us use in the way described above. A photo being publicly visible somewhere does not make it free to use. In particular, do not upload photos taken from a venue's website or social accounts, from Google Maps, from stock libraries, or from another photographer, even with credit. If you are not certain you have the right, do not upload it.
If a photo you upload results in a copyright claim against us, section 5 applies.
You confirm that, for everything you submit:
We act on copyright complaints. If a rights holder tells us something you submitted infringes their work, we will normally remove it first and tell you, so you can respond or show us you have the rights. The full process, including how to send or answer a notice, is in section 12 of our Terms of Service.
We terminate repeat infringers. We keep a record of copyright complaints against each account. If you repeatedly submit content you do not have the rights to, we will suspend or permanently close your creator account, and we may do so after a single deliberate or serious infringement. This is not discretionary on our part — a platform that does not remove repeat infringers loses its own legal protection, so we cannot make exceptions.
Costs and claims arising from content you did not have the rights to submit are covered by the responsibility section below.
You agree not to: submit spam, fake or duplicate spots; impersonate others; post content unrelated to genuine local places; or use the program to mislead people or harm a business. Keep it honest and in the spirit of helping people discover real places.
WondrOut may review, edit, re-order, decline, hide, or remove any content, and may suspend or close a creator account, at our discretion — for example if content breaks these terms, a venue raises a valid concern, or the content is inaccurate. We try to be fair, but we are not obliged to publish or keep any particular content.
We will act reasonably and, except where content is unlawful, poses a risk, or we are legally required to act immediately, we will tell you what we have done and why, and give you a chance to respond. Removing content does not affect earnings you have already made from it.
You can offer paid content on WondrOut — for example paid guides and lists, and monthly subscriptions that give members access to your content. You set the price of what you sell, within any limits we set. WondrOut provides the platform that lets buyers discover and pay for your content; the content itself is yours and you are responsible for delivering what you describe.
Buyers pay through our payment provider. For each sale or subscription payment, WondrOut acts as a limited platform facilitator to collect the payment and pass on your share.
WondrOut keeps a platform fee of 10% of the price of each paid guide, list or subscription payment, and you keep the remaining 90%. Payment-processing fees charged by our payment provider may also apply and, where they do, are deducted before or from your share. We may change the platform fee in the future; if we do, we will give creators reasonable notice and it will only apply to sales made after the change.
Payouts are handled by our payment provider, Stripe, through a connected payout account. To receive money you must set up and keep a valid Stripe payout account and provide the identity, bank and tax details Stripe requires. Your use of Stripe is also governed by Stripe's own agreements (including the Stripe Connected Account Agreement). WondrOut does not receive or store your bank or full tax details — you provide those directly to Stripe.
Payouts are released on Stripe's schedule once funds have cleared. We may delay, withhold, adjust or reverse amounts owed to you where there is a refund, chargeback, suspected fraud, a breach of these terms, or a legal requirement to do so.
Buyers may be entitled to a refund in line with our Refund Policy and applicable law. If a sale of your content is refunded or charged back, the corresponding amount (including your share and any related fees) is deducted from your earnings or future payouts. You are responsible for making sure what you sell is accurate and delivers what buyers are promised.
If a refund or chargeback happens when you have no further earnings to deduct from — for example after you have left the program — the amount becomes a debt you owe us, and we may recover it. We will always tell you what the amount relates to first.
You are responsible for your own taxes on money you earn through the creator program, including any income tax and, if it applies to you, GST or equivalent. WondrOut and Stripe may collect tax information from you and report or withhold where required by law. If you are unsure of your tax obligations, get your own advice.
If you add a booking link, affiliate link or discount code, any arrangement and any earnings from it are between you and the relevant business — WondrOut is not a party to it and is not responsible for it. You are responsible for disclosing paid, sponsored or affiliate content as required by law.
We handle your personal information (such as your email and profile details) in line with our Privacy Policy. Your public creator profile, handle and content are visible to anyone using WondrOut.
If people join your email list through WondrOut, you receive their email addresses so you can tell them about your new lists, trips, codes and recommendations. Those addresses are other people's personal information, and they gave them to you for that purpose only.
You agree that you will:
These obligations continue after you leave the program. If you misuse subscriber details we may close your account, and you are responsible for any penalty or claim that follows.
You take part in the creator program as an independent person or business. Nothing in these terms makes you an employee, partner, agent or joint venturer of WondrOut, and nothing gives either of us authority to enter agreements on the other's behalf. You decide what to make, when to make it, and what to charge for it, within these terms.
Because you are not an employee, you do not receive wages, leave, superannuation or workers' compensation from us, and you are responsible for your own insurance and your own tax (see the tax section).
To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for your content and agree to cover WondrOut for losses or claims arising from content you submit, or content you sell, that breaks these terms. WondrOut provides the creator program "as is" and is not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
You can stop being a creator at any time by contacting us.
We may change these terms or the program. If a change materially affects you — the platform fee, how you get paid, or the rights you grant us — we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before it takes effect, and you can close your creator account before then if you do not accept it. Changes never apply retrospectively to sales already made. We may make immediate changes only where the law requires it or to address a security or legal risk.
Any earnings owed to you up to the date your account ends remain payable, subject to sections 10 and 11. Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16 and 17, and any others that should reasonably continue, survive after your account ends.
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia.
